Khanya College at COP17 in Durban

Khanya College heads off to COP17

Khanya College staff travelled to Durban for the 17th Conference of Parties in December. As a non- governmental organisation that works with social justice issues, Khanya College attended some of the conferences and seminars hosted at the civil society space at the University of KwaZulu Natal. KC staff members also joined a lively atmosphere of an estimated 6500 protesters at the Global day of Action march organised by civil society organisations around the world on 3 December 2011. Together in solidarity with many other local and international organisations, KC staff members as activists demonstrated against the failure of parties to negotiate fair solutions to the climate crisis.

Khanya College staff bonding in Port Edward
As part of our team-building, Khanya College staff spent a week at Port Edward Resort in December 2011. Staff came up with innovative team-building activities and games that provided an enjoyable experience for all. This was more than a fun trip with the team. It is was also an opportunity to better know each other, discover different personalities, improve communication and the trust within the team and to understand how important the team work is.

KC Present Exchange : A moment of laughing and sharing.

Khanya College held it's first year-end present exchange as staff on December 22 2011. The challenge was simple: pick a fellow staff member's name out of a bucket and you buy a present for that person. The exchange was not only about the gifts, but also a day of sharing, laughing and getting to know each other as Khanya College staff.
