There were songs and poems which were meant for advancing and confronting the apartheid regime head on. But there were those that were sung during funerals and night vigils. All these song and poems were important in crafting the identity of the working class as a class that confronted apartheid. Some of the songs that were able to articulate the position of black workers under the migrant labour system in Southern African were sung by established artists. This section of the site contains songs and poems that depict the struggle against apartheid and capitalism. |
